I guess a MAJOR JOBS SPEECH from President Obama would be good right about now. At least we can all hope.

This is not what President Barack Obama wanted to hear.
In the weakest jobs report in a year, the economy added no net jobs in August, while the nation’s 9.1 percent unemployment rate remained unchanged, the Labor Department announced on Friday.
Obama, who plans to deliver a major jobs speech on Thursday, was not expected to comment on the disappointing numbers. He has no public appearances scheduled and is set to leave on Friday for Camp David for the weekend.
Katherine Abraham, a member of Obama’s Council of Economic Advisors, issued a statement stressing that “it is important not to read too much into any one monthly report” because of fluctuations in employment figures.
“Clearly, faster growth is needed to replace the jobs lost in the downturn,” she wrote. “Today’s report underscores the President’s call for Congress to pass a clean extension of the transportation bill to keep workers on the job and keep critical highway construction, bridge repair, mass transit and other important projects moving forward.”
