A former public school superintendent received an incredible separation package of over $301,000 for each year of service in her three years of work for the City of Philadelphia. While this is not the only local school board financial issue of its kind, this situation clearly illustrates the need for school reform.
I believe that management of local school boards and budgetary oversight needs to be taken back from the folks who have made such poor decisions. School districts should be required to maintain at least one non-educational position dedicated to providing budgetary guidance.
Almost forgot, she is receiving monthly unemployment benefits of over $1,000.

Arlene Ackerman was reportedly paid the hefty buyout by the school district with taxpayer funds after a plan to use $405,000 in private funds to pay her was cancelled amid public outrage.

An alleged victim of ‘fake doctor’ Oneal Ron Morris has come forward to show the horrific state of her face after it was injected with a toxic mixture of cement and tyre sealant.
Rajee Narinesingh, 48, from Miami, Florida, says her face was ruined by Morris, who had just been released from custody after she was accused of administering the potentially lethal shots to another victim.
Ms Narinesingh, who, like Morris, 30, was born a man, but lives as a woman, said she suffered acutely lumpy cheeks, misshapen chin and ballooning upper lip after the back room beauty treatment.
She admitted that she initially turned to Morris because she did not have the money to pay a licensed plastic surgeon. She says she learned of him by word-of-mouth in the transsexual community.

A picture book of biblical story scenes created entirely from Lego building blocks has been pulled from Sam’s Club after customer complaints about its violent and offensive pictures.

After fielding complaints from parents about its “mature” content, the Wal-Mart-owned retailer Sam’s Club has pulled a reported 10,000 copies of a “Bible” off its shelves that uses plastic LEGO blocks to depict Old Testament scenes.
Brendan Smith, creator of the LEGO scenes and author of “The Brick Bible,” reported earlier this week the Sam’s Club decision.
“I have just been informed that Sam’s Club is pulling ‘The Brick Bible’ from the shelves of all of their retail locations nationwide due to the complaints of a handful of people that it is vulgar and violent,” Smith reported on his Facebook page. “This despite the book containing only straightforward illustrations of Bible stories using direct quotes from Scripture.”
Sam’s Club explained: “After selling this specific version online and in several club locations, we received numerous concerns from members and parents about the mature content for a perceived children’s book. Sam’s Club made a business decision to discontinue sales of ‘The Brick Bible.’”
