Saw this video created by a You Tube contributor named ”Obamamotors” and thought that it nicely sums up who the OWSers are and what the OWSers want. It’s pretty darn good.
There are a few peeks at some OWSer nekkid breasteses in the video, so it may be NSFW. We don’t post gratuitous nudity at the Spew, but since the women were filmed on a city street and nudity seems to be important to the movement, it’s not really gratuitious.
It sure looks like it because this just seems too coincidental. The Guy Fawkes look-a-like cups and the comments below from their CEO seem to indicate support for the OWS thugs.
No more Starbucks for me. Dang! I just fell in love with their Gingerbread Latte, too!
Is it pure coincidence that this year’s Starbucks holiday cup features a Nutcracker bearing an uncanny resemblance to the iconic Guy Fawkes mask? Or is this is some radical graphic designer’s way of sticking it to the Man. Of course, it could also be Starbucks’ way of commodifying some of that Occupy Wall Street magic. Because what could be more punk than drinking coffee from a chain restaurant in a disposable cup referencing a 17th century religious nut!
Supporting the Guy Fawkes cup theory is a recent statement made by none other than Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz. “We’ve lost something,” Schultz said. “We’ve either lost our conscience, or lost our soul… People want human connection… I thought there would be social unrest in America. I mean violence.” Sounds like somebody’s been getting into V for Vendetta.
Jon S. Corzine has hired Andrew J. Levander, a leading white-collar criminal defense lawyer, according to three people briefed on the matter, as the former New Jersey governor deals with fallout from the collapse of MF Global, the brokerage firm he has run since last year.
Mr. Corzine resigned from MF Global on Friday morning and will not seek $12 million severance payments.
Federal authorities, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Securities and Exchange Commission, are investigating the $630 million in missing customer money at MF Global.
Another OWS story that further illustrates the contempt these protesters have shown and continue to harbor regarding other peoples rights. When will elected city officials get some balls, find their sanity, and stop this lunacy from continuing any longer at taxpayer expense?
Authorities arrested a convicted sex offender at an Occupy Dallas rally for allegedly sexually assaulting a 14-year-old runaway in his tent, MyFoxDFW.com reported.
Richard Wayne Armstrong, 24, who failed to register as a sex offender, had sex with the teen at the encampment, authorities said. She reportedly told investigators she was 19 years old.
This OWS experiment is fascinating. It’s like being in a laboratory and watching Animal Farm and Lord of the Flies unfold before our very eyes. Just for those of you keeping score at home, here are some of the very latest dispatches from the OWS frontier. Remember, this is what leftism looks like.
Occupy Madison can’t renew its permit because too many people complained about “inappropriate behavior, such as public masturbation, from street protesters.” (The Daily Cardinal)
San Francisco occupiers take a different approach to bathrooms, singing ”If you can’t be with the loo you love, crap in the street you’re with.” (Penny)
People, these stories keep coming out at a rapid clip, so it’s really hard to keep up. But never fear. One of our favorite blogs has neatly summarized the whole thing in song, and is running a music video challenge — check it out!
The Washington Examiner is running a story that further shows why the Occupy Wall Street crowd isn’t about freedom and bottom-up governance, but mob-enforced command and control. Fester is shocked, shocked that a bunch of commies would falsely claim that they represent the common man as a means to score broad appeal!
According to the story, the OWS folks have demanded or implemented limitations on free speech and participation:
One OWS guideline says: “Don’t assume gender. When possible, go with gender-neutral pronouns.”
When discussing a “de-escalation committee,” occupiers “requested that the committee be diverse and specifically discouraged too much participation by white heterosexual males.”
During the discussion on the de-escalation committee, one man commented that “We are all God’s children.” Another occupier rebuked him, saying “Don’t mention God. It makes me feel like I have to hide my agnostic beliefs.”
Seriously? They want to get all up in your choice of pronouns? Good luck with that, dipsticks. And white, male heterosexuals — or anyone who’s admittedly religious — need not freaking apply. How can they honestly claim they’re the 99% if they exclude the majority of the population?
Not surprisingly, the Examiner also recounts an OWS “committee report,” which said that “protesters are reluctant to ‘help out’ with leadership, and often try to personally benefit from services others provide.” And there you have it. These people started out as freeloaders, and the stifling speech codes haven’t exactly motivated them. What does that sound like to you? Hint: Starts with “c” and ends with “ommunism.”
Infuriated lower Manhattan residents went ballistic on Zuccotti Park protesters at a chaotic Community Board 1 meeting tonight while blasting politicians for allowing the siege to continue without any end in sight.
“They are defecating on our doorsteps,” fumed Katherine Hughes, a stay at home mom who has the misfortune of living one block from the chaos. “A lot of people are very frustrated. A lot of people are concerned about the safety of our kids.”
Fed up homeowners said that they’ve been subjected to insults and harassment as they trek to their jobs each morning. “The protesters taunt people who are on their way to work,” said James Fernandez, 51, whose apartment overlooks the park.
This time around little pressure is applied to NPR from the public or elected federal officials before the firing of another rule breaker radio show host.
A public radio host was fired on Thursday after the conservative political site The Daily Caller exposed her role as a spokeswoman for Occupy 2011, the faction of Occupy Wall Street movement occupying Washington’s Freedom Plaza.
