Attention Walmart Shoppers: Be Sure To Bring Your Pepper Spray

November 23rd, 2011 1 comment

A few weeks ago, The Morning Spew gave our readers a heads up about the OWSers’ plan to “occupy” stores and malls on Black Friday, usually the busiest shopping day of the year.  You can read that here

Apparently not getting enough attention from  ”occupying”  public spaces, the OWSers want to bring their collective tantrum to us, by blocking our right to freely choose where we shop and engage in commerce.  Even though they claim to be leaderless, this sounds like something which should fall under the RICO act.  Somebody, somewhere is pulling the strings for these lawbreakers.

I wonder if these OWSers have any idea as to what they are getting themselves into.  If they think that they can waltz right into a store on Black Friday and prevent people from shopping, they are incredibly naive.

Here’s a video that helps make my point.  Imagine, if you will, a moron in a Guy Fawkes mask trying to prevent this crock pot from finding a good home.  I’d pay  cash money to see that.

Here’s the short list, straight from their website, for their Black Friday targets:

On Black Friday,
Occupy or boycott:

- Abercrombie & Fitch
- Amazon.com (yes, we
have to stay away from Amazon, too!)
- AT&T Wireless

- Burlington
Coat Factory

- Dick’s Sporting Goods (I was surprised, too!)
- Dollar
Tree
- The Home Depot

- Neiman Marcus
- OfficeMax
- Toys
R’Us
- Verizon Wireless
- Wal-Mart

From CNBC.com

Some demonstrators are planning to
occupy retailers on Black Friday to protest “the business that are in the
pockets of Wall Street.”

Organizers are encouraging
consumers to either occupy or boycott retailers that are publicly traded,
according to the Stop Black Friday website.

The goal of the movement is to
impact the profits of major corporations this holiday season.

“The idea is simple, hit the
corporations that corrupt and control American politics where it hurts, their
profits, ” states the Occupy
Black Friday Facebook page
.

A few of the retailers the
protesters plan on targeting include Neiman Marcus, Amazon and Wal-Mart.

Their website states the following:

“Keep in mind that we are not occupying small businesses
or hardworking people—we must make a distinction between the businesses that are
in the pockets of Wall Street and the businesses that serve our local
communities.

We are NOT anti-capitalist. Just anti-crapitalist.Below is a shortlist for publicly traded large businesses
to Occupy or to boycott on Black Friday. Luckily, most of them don’t have good
presents anyway. If you want to see the top 100 retail businesses for 2010 to
boycott, click here.

#OccupyChristmas – “Buy Nothing Day” Is Here!

November 3rd, 2011 1 comment

Ladies and Gentlemen, good Americans, mark you calendars!  Occupy Idiots have declared November 25th as “Buy Nothing Day.”  You do know what this means, don’t you?  It means that we normal folk can shop freely, without the distraction, stench and threat to personal safety created by the occupiers.

Also, there is talk that they will be sending bogus Jesuses and Santas into the malls to “meditate,” so warn your kids.

UPDATE:  Now that I think about it, does anyone really believe that these people will leave the rest of us alone as we shop?
