New Reader Challenge – Make a Music Video!

October 19th, 2011 3 comments

Wow, the Ben & Jerry’s contest was fun.  So fun, in fact, that we want to jump right into another reader challenge.  This time, it’s all about the video.

Here’s the deal.  Fester has written you a little ditty about the Occupy Wall Street goons, and has recorded it.  It’s called “We Gonna Occupy.”  (Guess what it’s about.  No really.  Guess dammit!)

The thing is, we have no video.  Well, okay, we have a video, but it does nothing but flash the lyrics:

We want something funny.  Something scary.  Something funny and scary.  And that’s where you — the most clever readers on the Worldwide Web — come in.

First, watch the video.  You’ve probably done that already, so you already know that Fester ain’t no Sinatra, and he ain’t no Edward Van Halen.  But he’s a damn sight better than these commie wastes of skin.

Second, download the mp3 version of the song here.  (Windows users, do the right-click “Save link as” thing.  Mac users, do whatever it is you people do.)

Third, use the song to make a music video.  When you’re done, upload it to YouTube and send us a link at  We’ll review it and, if it meets our ground rules below, we’ll post it here and ensure your immortality.

The first three people to get their videos posted will win a coveted t-shirt from The Morning Spew.  (Look, if we had the money, we’d buy you a new Ferrari.  But we’re not George Soros, people.)  That said, we’ll continue to post videos as long as people want to send them in.  Later submissions might not get a t-shirt, but if we post your video, you will receive immortality, high praise, and our undying gratitude.

A few ground rules:

  • No nudity, unless you blur it out or otherwise obscure it. (We’re not prudes here, but still.)
  • No racism, sexism, etc., unless you’re exposing racism, sexism, etc. by the occupiers.
  • Don’t violate anyone’s copyrights — give credit when appropriate and adhere to fair-use principles.
  • And most importantly, you must put our URL ( at the beginning and end of the video.  You can also give credit to yourself and anyone else, but we gotsta have that URL.

Other than that, you have total creative control.  Now go forth and make music videos!  Fester sez enjoy!

Occupy Wall Street Violence Begins

October 14th, 2011 No comments

A violent skirmish broke out today in New York City as marching Occupy Wall Street Protesters ignored police orders to prevent them from storming the New York Stock Exchange.

I think most of us knew that this Occupy Wall Street business would not end in a peaceful manner because the violence is a necessary part of the show.  You know the old saying:  It’s funny until someone get hurts, then it’s a campaign tool.

Of course, the fools getting hurt are not the fools who organized this mess.  It’s kinda like the jihadi folks.  It’s never the leaders who call for the violence who get hurt; it’s always the fools who heed their call.

From  CBS News

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – Just a few hours after protesters learned they’d be able to stay in Zuccotti Park indefinitely, violence has broken out as a group marched away from it.

A group of protesters were headed south on Broadway toward the New York Stock Exchange. The group swelled quickly and wound up in a confrontation with police as they tried to gain access to Wall Street. A standoff occurred.

Police motorcycles were shaped like a V and moved toward the protesters in the stand off. One man lost his balance, and was run over by a police motorcycle. Police descended on the protester and got him out from under the bike, but violence broke out.

The Hidden Messages In The Wall Street Website of Tears Testimonies

October 14th, 2011 2 comments

Sometimes it can be fun to read between the lines of a story and figure out the real message.  What follows are the testimonies that some Occupy Wall Street folks have posted on the Wall Street Website of Tears, We Are The 99%.  The captions are purely Spew Crew created and our interptretation of what is to be gleaned from each tale of woe.

Quite honestly, with the exception of the folks with health problems, I am sick of hearing these people whine because they made stupid decisions or don’t want to start at the bottom and work their way up.  What do you think when you read these stories?  Any hidden messages that pop out at you?  Put ‘em in the comments!  We want to know what you are thinking.

Hidden Message: Never wait for them to call. They never do. Just get on with your bidness.

Hidden Message: Canadian government health care sucks. Repeal Obamacare.

Hidden Message: Choose your major wisely or you may not get a job. Also, save your beer and manicure money for grad school.

Hidden Message: Sneaking away in the middle of the night is no way to go through life.

Hidden Message: Never ask a question unless you want to know the answer.

Hidden Message: Elite Universities = BMW (Big Money Waste).

Hidden Message: Buy a house you can afford.

Hidden Message: Eat something. You'll feel better.

Hidden Message: Having a lot of money is good.

Hidden Message: Alas, Hope and Change ain't all that it was cracked up to be.

They are serious.   They posted this video on their Occupy Portland website as if it was a good thing.  I really do think NOW is the time to bring out the fire hoses.

Well Lookie Here, We Got Us a Academic

October 13th, 2011 3 comments

The other day, we featured Urban Infidel’s excellent work covering the “Occupy” protest at Manhattan’s Zucotti Square.  (See our post:  Repeat After Me:  You Can Make Sweet, Sweet Love to Animals.)  The whole thing had Fester wondering what kind of a man would say such bizarre things.  Well, the New York Observer reports that it was Slovenian philosopher Slavoj Žižek (H/T Urban Infidel):

The Slovenian philosopher Slavoj Žižek turned up at Zuccotti Park to address the Occupy Wall Street demonstration on Sunday, offering up a seminar on Radicalism 101 for an appreciative crowd.

(Read it all here.)  So who is this bearded bard of the Bohemian brotherhood?  In Fester’s opinion, he’s a babbling pseudo-intellectual anarchist who is so thoroughly “academic” in his thinking that he’s finally become unmoored to reality.  But don’t take Fester’s word for it — let’s read a few choice quotations from Žižek’s January 2009 article in The New Republic (all emphasis in original):

Occupy Wall Street and the Monty Python Connection

October 13th, 2011 No comments

The good news is that the protesters and Monty Python seemed to  have reached a consensus:  OWS protesters are morons.

The conservative 2012 campaign ads are just writing themselves, aren’t they?

(See our previous coverage of this weirdness here, here, and here.  It just keeps getting better!)

Repeat After Me: You Can Make Sweet, Sweet Love to Animals

Just when you thought the Occupy Whatever crowd couldn’t get any creepier, they answer the call and deliver.

Over at Urban Infidel, they’ve documented, photographed, and videotaped the scene at Manhattan’s Zucotti Square.  You have to see the whole post; it’s exactly what Fester expected from this clueless, communist lot of trust-fund brats.

But here’s what really takes the cake.  Much like our own President Barack “Ron Burgundy” Obama, these people will repeat every single word their wimpy “leader” tells them to — even if it involves, say, bestiality:

Again, you have to see the entire post here.  It’s classic.  And wholly unsurprising.
